Scrapbook comprised of clippings, correspondence and memorabilia related primarily to Amelia Earhart visiting Chicago, Illinois following her 1928 flight across the Atlantic. The scrapbook was compiled by Jessie Blaine Barnes, a classmate of Earhart at Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. Barnes participated in the planning for events to celebrate the 1928 visit and homecoming. The scrapbook also contains a letter from the desk of Amelia Earhart acknowledging a letter she received about the scrapbook and includes clippings up until Earharts 1937 disappearance. Also, included is one folder that documents Jessie Blaine Barnes' life.
